Job Description

We’re looking for a developer to join our team. This is a hands-on, high-trust role spanning back-end web application work, integration maintenance, and Shopify development across our client portfolio.

Be aware: a significant portion of our codebase is Classic ASP / VBScript rather than modern ASP.NET. This is intentional and important. If you’re comfortable in Classic ASP and can also work across C#, SQL Server, and optionally Shopify, you’ll fit in well.

We want a problem-solver who understands the broader context of their work and brings ideas to the table. You’ll take ownership of assigned tasks, flag issues proactively, suggest improvements, and help us move the business forward.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Classic ASP / VBScript: comfortable reading, debugging, and extending legacy ASP codebases. This is the bulk of the immediate work.
  • C# / ASP.NET: able to work across WebForms and ASP.NET Core; add role checks and modify endpoints.
  • SQL Server: stored procedure reading/editing, basic T-SQL, understanding of data flows.
  • IIS / web.config: comfortable with server configuration, understanding why security settings like SameSite=Strict vs None matter.
  • Security awareness: practical understanding of XSS, CSRF, session cookie attributes. Not just following a checklist.
  • Advantageous:
    • Shopify – Liquid templating, Shopify 2.0, metafields, app integrations.
    • Xero API – familiarity with OAuth 2.0 and Xero integration patterns.
    • Experience with ERP integrations (NetSuite, MYOB, or similar).
Job Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and extending Classic ASP / VBScript web applications – security fixes, feature additions, and bug resolution.
  • C# / ASP.NET work including WebForms endpoints and ASP.NET Core API maintenance.
  • IIS / web.config configuration including security hardening (cookie attributes, request filtering, SameSite settings).
  • SQL Server – stored procedure maintenance and basic T-SQL for data and password policy work.
  • Debugging and resolving sync issues between Shopify, our suite of products, and back-end ERP systems.
  • FTP/XML stock feed troubleshooting in coordination with our product pipelines.
  • Shopify theme and integration work when required (Liquid, JavaScript, Shopify 2.0).
  • Classic ASP to modern stack migration – assessing, planning, and executing the migration of legacy Classic ASP applications to a modern web stack, maintaining business logic and integration continuity throughout.
  • SQL Server 2008 migration – planning and executing the upgrade to a modern SQL Server version, including schema, stored procedures, and data integrity validation.
  • Replication platform setup – configuring SQL Server replication to support the new platform architecture.
  • New site standup – building and configuring new sites on the target platform, including DNS duplication, path and URL mapping, and ensuring continuity from legacy environments.
  • QA and testing your own work thoroughly before internal handover.
