SEO & Content Marketing Specialist

Job Description

Build the content and search engine for growing New Zealand brands.

Content, SEO, and AEO. You’ll own the strategy, the calendar, the brand voices, the on-page SEO, and the numbers that prove it worked. You’ll work directly with the owner in a small, family-run team that treats its people like family and backs its people to try things. We’re serious about the human judgment that keeps content good.

As our SEO & Content Marketing Specialist, your primary focus is taking full ownership of our multi-brand search presence—driving creative strategy, AI-assisted content production, on-page optimization, and growth analytics during dedicated deep-work blocks. To keep your workday fully utilized, you will also handle light operational support, such as live chat (using the background business knowledge you gain through content work) and WooCommerce product updates during live NZ-overlap hours.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in a digital marketing or content role, ideally in a multi-brand or agency environment.
    • Hands-on experience producing web/social content using AI tools within a real workflow.
    • Practical experience using WordPress and WooCommerce (merchandise/Print-on-Demand store platform experience is a plus).
    • Background in customer service, live chat (for English-speaking markets), volume product loading, data entry, video editing, or AI-avatar video creation is desirable.
  • Core Skills & Technical Knowledge:
    • Native or near-native written NZ/AU English with strong editorial judgment to spot and fix weak, factually incorrect, or low-quality AI content (Gating requirement).
    • Proven ability to prompt, review, and quality-check AI tools critically rather than trusting output blindly. Solid understanding of SEO and AEO fundamentals.
    • Basic understanding of analytics (GA4, Google Business Profile), email marketing basics (Klaviyo/GoHighLevel/lifecycle), CRO instincts, and accurate quote drafting/numeracy.
Job Responsibilities
  • Content Planning & Creation: Maintain content calendars for each brand to framework standards, generate blog ideas using AI, brief the blog agent, edit content to match brand voice, add SEO/AEO metadata, and file completed work.
  • Repurposing & Social Posting: Repurpose blogs into channel-formatted social posts via AI agents, schedule and publish content, post weekly to LinkedIn, and manage weekly updates to Google Business Profiles.
  • Reputation & Governance: Monitor and respond to Google Reviews across all brands, escalate negative feedback for service recovery, enforce brand consistency, and quality-control AI output for accuracy, tone, and compliance (NZ UEM Act, AI disclosure, and originality).
  • Website, Conversion & SEO: Implement on-page SEO/AEO improvements, feed insights back into ideation, monitor website performance to improve conversion rates, make content-level updates within guardrails, build and optimize landing pages using AI tools, and report on traffic and conversions.
  • Video & Email Marketing: Edit social video content, configure digital-twin/AI-avatar videos, and build engaging consent-gated lifecycle and Klaviyo email campaigns.
  • Ecommerce Support & Product Loading: Maintain products across brand websites and merch stores (WooCommerce/DecoNetwork) with accurate variants, pricing, images, and SEO metadata.
  • Customer Service & Admin: Deliver first-line live chat support during NZ overlap hours, draft and follow up on customer quotes via email, execute accurate data entry, and handle general virtual assistant tasks to utilize spare capacity.
  • Reporting & Collaboration: Post a daily 5-point report covering completed tasks, active KPIs, required resources, current capacity %, and next-day intentions to ensure visibility and surface blockers early.
