Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Sales Team Lead to join an international online marketplace operating in the travel and events sector. This hands-on role will focus on elevating how we sell, follow up and convert international enquiries, while strengthening the systems, processes and coaching that help a small sales team perform at a consistently higher level.
This is a hands-on player-coach role. You will personally manage inbound sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to confirmed booking, while also mentoring and supporting less experienced team members.
The role is suited to someone who enjoys selling directly to clients but can also help others improve their confidence, consistency and commercial performance.
You will lead primarily through your own example, with coaching and team development forming an important part of the position. By demonstrating strong consultative selling, disciplined follow-up, sound judgement and a thoughtful approach to closing, you will help establish a higher standard of sales performance across the team.
This is not a traditional management role focused mainly on administration. Most of your time will remain dedicated to managing clients, coordinating with external partners, progressing opportunities and securing bookings.

Job Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with international clients, understand their preferences and provide a personalised experience throughout the sales journey.
- Trusted Adviser Sales Approach: Use a friendly, professional and consultative approach to help clients make confident decisions. Ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully and provide clear recommendations without relying on high-pressure sales tactics.
- Product Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of the company’s services, products and international offerings so you can provide accurate and relevant guidance.
- Lead and Pipeline Management: Manage inbound sales enquiries, maintain consistent follow-up and ensure opportunities continue to progress through each stage of the sales process.
- Consultative Selling: Add value beyond simply passing information between clients and suppliers. Use detailed product knowledge, pricing information and internal insights to help clients compare their options and move towards a final decision.
- Quotes and Negotiation: Prepare tailored quotes and proposals and work with clients and external partners to clarify pricing, services and commercial terms where required.
- Multi-Channel Communication: Communicate effectively across email, online messaging platforms and other digital channels, adapting your tone while maintaining a consistently professional standard.
- Occasional Calls: Be comfortable leading occasional client or partner calls, particularly for complex enquiries or important discussions. Structure conversations clearly, ask the right questions and guide all parties towards a positive next step.
- Sales Performance: Meet or exceed agreed sales, conversion and revenue targets while maintaining a high standard of client service and satisfaction.
- Team Mentoring: Lead by example through strong personal performance. Share knowledge and provide practical support to help less experienced sales team members improve their follow-up, objection-handling and closing skills.
- Teamwork: Contribute positively to a small, collaborative and high-performing team. Be willing to support colleagues, learn about other areas of the business and assist where needed.
- Process Improvement: Help improve sales processes, templates and training resources, while documenting best practices to support future team development.
Good luck and God Bless!
