Marketing Operations Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and technically-minded Marketing Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day execution of marketing activities for Expedition Partners, a specialist in small ship expedition travel.

This is a hands-on role that focuses on consistency, organization, and professional communication. You will work closely with Jenny to manage our database, execute email campaigns, and maintain our presence across social media, YouTube, and podcast platforms.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Mailchimp Proficiency (Essential): Must have experience with audience segmentation and automation.
  • Technical Savvy: Comfortable learning and managing marketing tech stacks.
  • Communication: Excellent written English with the ability to adapt to a sophisticated, premium brand voice.
  • Basic Content Editing: Experience with Canva for basic design and tools (like CapCut, Descript, etc.) for basic audio/video trimming.
  • Detail-Oriented: A “quality-first” mindset with a high level of accuracy in formatting and scheduling.
  • Proactive: Able to follow processes independently and meet deadlines.
  • Nice to Have:
    ● Previous experience working with Travel, Lifestyle, or Premium brands.
    ● Familiarity with the Australian market/AEST time zone.
Job Responsibilities
  • Email Marketing & CRM (Mailchimp):
    ● Build, schedule, and send EDMs using Mailchimp.
    ● Manage and segment the database using tags and conditional logic.
    ● Assist with the setup and maintenance of automated email sequences.
    ● Ensure all subscriber lists are clean, organized, and accurate.
  • Social Media & Content Support:
    ● Schedule and post content across various social media platforms.
    ● Use Canva to format posts, create simple thumbnails, or update existing templates.
    ● Maintain consistency in brand tone and presentation across all channels.
  • Podcast & YouTube Maintenance:
    ● Perform basic audio and video editing (e.g., trimming clips, adding intros/outros).
    ● Upload and schedule episodes/videos with formatted titles and descriptions.
    ● Note: This involves functional editing support, not high-level professional production.
  • General Marketing Operations:
    ● Assist with content preparation for blogs and guides.
    ● Follow established systems and checklists to ensure zero-error delivery.
    ● Help keep the marketing calendar organized and on schedule.
