Engineer Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of experience in drafting, with a strong background in civil or electrical engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD. This role involves creating detailed engineering drawings, including plan views, isometric views, schematic diagrams, and more, while collaborating on various design and construction projects. A background in fire safety, as well as knowledge of additional design and drafting software, will be considered advantageous.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in engineering drafting or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (industry standard for 2D and 3D drafting).
  • Experience with BIM and Revit for building information modeling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D for infrastructure and land development projects is a plus.
  • Experience with Navisworks for 3D model review and clash detection is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for PDF markup and collaboration is an advantage.
  • Background in fire safety and SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to generate precise and accurate drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare engineering drawings and plans using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  • Create 2D and 3D drafts for a wide range of engineering projects, including civil, electrical, and infrastructure projects.
  • Generate and review plans such as isometric views, hydraulic calculations, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and translate them into detailed drawings.
  • Produce and modify CAD models, detailing the design, dimensions, and technical specifications for construction purposes.
  • Review and finalize As Built and construction drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate panel layouts, cable schedules, instrument loop diagrams, and conduit layouts.
  • Contribute to BIM projects and use tools such as Revit and Civil 3D for building and infrastructure modeling.
  • Perform clash detection and 3D model reviews using Navisworks.
  • Assist with project scheduling and timeline management using Microsoft Project.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless communication and accurate project documentation.
