Australian Architectural Draftsman

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsman to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will support architectural design and drafting work specifically for luxury low-rise residential projects in Australia, using ArchiCAD. This role requires a strong understanding of Australian drafting standards, building codes, and the construction certification process.

You will work closely with our architects and construction team to develop high-quality drawings and documentation that meet compliance and project requirements. This role is open to junior-level candidates with the right skills and eagerness to learn.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Proficient in ArchiCAD (required).
  • Familiarity with Australian drafting standards, building codes, and construction documentation processes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A solid understanding of residential construction methods and materials.
  • Experience with low-rise dwelling and duplex projects and/or DA/CDC/CC certification processes in Australia is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Priority (preferred but not required).
  • Open to junior-level candidates with relevant skills and a willingness to grow.
Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare architectural drawings and documentation using ArchiCAD, adhering to Australian drafting and building standards.
  • Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction documentation for luxury home and duplex residential developments.
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure accurate and compliant drafting.
  • Assist in the certification and submission process for planning and building approvals.
  • Maintain organized drawing sets and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Revise and update plans based on feedback from architects, engineers, and certifiers.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding drafting progress, requirements, and changes.
