Audio Visual Systems Designer & CAD Specialist

Job Description

We are an Australian based Audio Visual and Digital Signage integrator looking to engage an experienced offshore Audio Visual Systems Designer & CAD Specialist to support our growing project workload.

This role is intended to become a key part of our quoting and delivery workflow, helping to ensure fast quoting, system design, documentation, and technical support.

The ideal candidate will have strong practical AV design knowledge, excellent documentation skills, and experience working within commercial AV environments.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for creating AV drawings and technical documentation.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for project and documentation management.
  • Experienced with PDF markup and documentation tools.
  • Experience with D-Tools is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Organised and process-driven.
  • Commercially aware and practical in system design.
  • Able to communicate clearly with Australian project managers and technicians.
Job Responsibilities
  • Pre-Sales / Quoting Support:
    ● Assist with high-level AV system design during quotation and proposal stages.
    ● Review client requirements, floor plans, and scopes to help recommend suitable system solutions.
    ● Produce concept-level signal flow diagrams and system overviews.
    ● Help identify potential technical issues or gaps before projects are sold.
    ● Support the sales team with technical recommendations and product selection.
  • Detailed Design & Documentation:
    ● Produce detailed AV drawings and documentation for approved projects.
    ● Create AutoCAD drawings including:
    ⁃ Floor plans
    ⁃ Equipment layouts
    ⁃ Rack elevations
    ⁃ Signal flow diagrams
    ⁃ Schematic drawings
    ⁃ Cable schedules
    ⁃ Device schedules
    ● Ensure documentation is accurate and installer-friendly.
    ● Assist with preparation of handover documentation and asset registers.
  • Technical & Engineering Support:
    ● Assist with AV system commissioning preparation.
    ● Support remote troubleshooting and technical support where required.
    ● Help maintain consistent documentation standards across projects.
    ● Assist with programming preparation and system configuration documentation.
