Job Qualifications/Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on preparing financial statements.
- Proficiency with Xero is highly advantageous. Alternatively, experience with Quickbooks or similar accounting tools is required.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, and cost allocation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience in reconciling all accounts such as bank, GST and payroll.
- Ability to calculate balance day adjustments and prepare journals.
- Ability to comprehend and work through complex accounting tasks.
- General understanding of Australian tax law and compliance requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) from transaction data using Xero.
- Assist with tax return preparation and ensure compliance with Australian tax laws.
- Perform data entry and reconciling, including bank, GST and payroll accounts.
- Edit and tailor financial report templates to meet client-specific needs.
- Collaborate with the head accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of small business clients.
- Maintain meticulous records and ensure accuracy in all financial documentation.
- Communicate effectively with the CEO and team members, providing clear explanations of financial information.
