WrkPod Iloilo Soft Opening

The First Stone in Iloilo: Why March 23 is More Than Just an Opening Date

The air in Mandurriao is buzzing, and it’s about more than just the Iloilo heat. If you’ve been following the WrkPod journey, you know we don’t just build offices—we build launchpads.

On March 23, we officially celebrated the soft opening of our newest home: WrkPod Iloilo.

But before we cut the ribbon at Richmonde Tower, we want to talk about why this specific 130-job facility matters so much. It isn’t just about “expanding the brand.” It’s about a promise we made to the Philippines, a goal we call Vision 10,000, and the 2,400 lives we are about to change right here in Iloilo.

More Than Bricks and Mortar

If you walk onto the 2nd floor of Richmonde Tower right now, you’ll hear the sounds of progress. You’ll hear the hum of drills, the rustle of cables being laid, and the focused chatter of a team determined to meet a deadline.

Our founder, James Thompson, recently stood in front of our brand-new mural-a vibrant piece of art that symbolizes ambition and local pride-to reflect on what this moment actually represents.

“This site is more than just another location,” James shared. “It is the foundation stone of our Iloilo journey. It’s the first step toward building 2,400 meaningful countryside careers here as part of our Vision 10,000.”

For James, and for all of us at WrkPod, every workstation assembled isn’t just furniture. It’s a desk where a mother can work a global job while staying close to her children. It’s a seat where a talented Ilonggo professional can earn a world-class salary without having to endure the congestion of Metro Manila or the heartbreak of moving overseas.

Meet the Team Leading the Charge

A building is just a shell without the right people inside it. While the fit-out continues at a blistering pace, two key members of our Iloilo family are already on the ground, making sure we hit the ground running on March 23.

  • Iman Muhammad (Site Administration Officer): The glue holding the operations together, ensuring that from day one, our pods are seamless, productive, and welcoming.
  • Jonalyn Cararinas (Marketing & Recruitment Specialist): The bridge between WrkPod and the incredible talent pool of Iloilo.
  • Jehfel Gequillana (IT and VA Support): The engine room of WrkPod, ensuring our tech is sharp and our VAs are supported, so the work never stops flowing.

Jonalyn and the recruitment team aren’t waiting for the paint to dry. They are already busy filling roles, vetting talent, and building the community that will call Richmonde Tower home. We aren’t just looking for workers; we are looking for the pioneers who will help us prove that the regional Philippines is the future of global work.

Why Iloilo? Why Now?

You might be wondering: Why start with 130 seats at Richmonde Tower?

Think of Richmonde as our “starter motor.” It’s our foundation facility-a high-spec, high-energy environment located in the heart of the Mandurriao Business District. It’s designed to prove the concept and set the standard.

But we aren’t stopping at 130. Our roadmap for Iloilo is massive. We are already in the process of securing larger sites across the city to reach our target of 2,400 jobs in Iloilo alone.

We chose Iloilo because the city is ready. The infrastructure is there, the culture is rich, and most importantly, the talent is world-class. The Ilonggo spirit-characterized by grace, hard work, and loyalty-is exactly what global partners are looking for.

Vision 10,000: The Big Picture

At WrkPod, we often talk about Vision 10,000. It’s our North Star—the goal to create 10,000 meaningful jobs in the Philippine countryside.

Why “countryside”? Because for too long, the best opportunities have been concentrated in a few over-crowded hubs. We believe that talent is distributed equally, but opportunity is not. By bringing global work to places like Iloilo, we:

  1. Strengthen Families: No more “OFW families” separated by oceans.
  2. Boost Local Economies: Salaries earned in Iloilo stay in Iloilo, supporting local cafes, shops, and services.
  3. Transform Lives: A “meaningful career” isn’t just a paycheck; it’s dignity, growth, and a path forward.

Every cable run and every wall painted at Richmonde Tower represents a future livelihood. When we look at the construction mess, we don’t see dust—we see the beginning of a movement.
