Job Description
As a Trainee Social Media Creator, you will collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing Executive to create social media assets for our clients. You will learn to develop and optimize social media content, utilize tools like Canva and video editing software, and manage scheduling and posting for optimal results. Additionally, you will gain skills in running ads on Meta and LinkedIn platforms.
During the training period, your role will be crucial in supporting the Digital Marketing Executive and ensuring seamless operations for the Marketing Managers who interface with our clients. You will also complete a digital marketing education curriculum, which includes presenting your learnings to the team.
6-month apprenticeship leading to a permanent contract with a 3-month probationary period and 6-month status as ‘trainee’. Upon successful completion of probationary and training periods, the candidate will receive official status as a ‘Social Media Creator’ for The Change Starter.
Starting salary: $500 AUD per month
After probation: $525 AUD per month plus Health Insurance
Post-apprenticeship: $600 AUD per month with a specialized title (e.g., “Social Media Creator”)

Job Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree in Marketing or a related field (Required)
- Proficiency with technology and a passion for design
- Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Experience with Canva and video editing is advantageous
- Familiarity with Outlook, Google Drive, Trello, and Slack is beneficial
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
- Team collaboration and strong communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proactive and confident in asking questions
- Discretion and security diligence in handling confidential information
Job Responsibilities
- Creating and implementing social media plans
- Designing post graphics and reels using Canva
- Editing videos and adding captions, music, and effects
- Managing content assets on Google Drive and Canva
- Optimizing client social pages and increasing engagement
- Researching and updating hashtags
- Engaging with social media users
- Uploading and optimizing YouTube content
- Supporting team onboarding processes
- Backing up email marketing campaigns
- Staying updated on digital marketing best practices
- Assisting the Digital Marketing Executive and other team members as needed
