Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Marketing & Resource Creation to support the mission and daily operations of Liturgy Brisbane.

This role will enhance communication and engagement with parishes and schools, strengthen our digital presence, and provide support with creating print and digital resources. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and staff team.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Essential:
    • Proven experience as a Virtual Assistant, Communications Officer, or similar digital or administrative support role.
    • Strong written communication skills: able to craft engaging, accurate, and well-presented content for newsletters, social media, and websites.
    • Understanding of the Catholic context: familiarity with the liturgical year, Church language, and tone appropriate for Catholic audiences.
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills: able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Digital proficiency: confident using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, Mailchimp (or similar platforms), and cloud-based collaboration tools.
    • Graphic design ability: able to design visually appealing flyers, banners, social-media tiles, and digital resources consistent with brand style.
    • Social media management experience: capable of scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and maintaining a consistent online presence.
    • Attention to detail: ensures accuracy in text, images, and formatting across all digital outputs.
    • Collaborative and responsive: communicates effectively with team
    members, welcomes feedback, and works harmoniously across shared projects.
    • Reliable internet connection suitable for consistent online work and Zoom meetings.
  • Preferred:
    • Video editing and production skills: ability to edit short promotional or formation videos for YouTube and social media.
    • Website content management: experience updating pages in Weebly, Umbraco or similar CMS platforms.
    • CRM or database experience: familiarity with managing contact lists, subscriber data, and engagement tracking.
    • Analytical skills: ability to interpret metrics from social media or email campaigns to inform strategy.
    • Background in Church communications or pastoral ministry: awareness of diocesan structures, parish life, or Catholic education settings.
    • Experience supporting creative or mission-based teams: demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and commitment to shared goals.
Job Responsibilities
  • Digital Platforms & Systems:
    • Become familiar with Liturgia’s features and structure.
    • Follow up unused Liturgia codes and assist with user activation.
    • Use AI to create Homily Help for Sundays in Year A beginning with Mary, Mother.
    • Tag images to improve search functionality.
    • Copy/paste the upcoming Ordo into Liturgia annually.
    • Prepare Sunday reading PDFs and Weebly pages from Break Open the Word.
    • Liaise with Michael about adding hymn suggestions.
    • Access Liturgy Help to identify features not yet in Liturgia; propose enhancements.
  • Marketing & Promotions:
    • Work with LB staff to plan monthly marketing emails.
    • Plan and schedule sales campaigns aligned with the liturgical and school calendars.
    • Extend communications to dioceses in New Zealand.
    • Design flyers, posters, infographics, and promotional images for events or emails.
    • Design Facebook/Instagram stories and image ads when required.
    • Create downloadable workshop tickets and Weebly event pages.
    • Design bulletin inserts to accompany Lit 101 video series.
    • Redesign existing downloadable brochures.
    • Review B-roll footage for online courses.
    • Manage editing and uploading of approved videos to YouTube.
    • Assist with planning and production of new promotional videos.
    • Develop mini ‘product spotlight’ features highlighting different LB resources weekly.
  • Communications & Email Marketing:
    • Draft and format professional email campaigns with copy, images, and links.
    • Manage mailing lists (parishes, schools, diocesan offices, LitEd and Liturgy News subscribers).
    • Send reminders for upcoming workshops or registration deadlines.
  • Social Media & Online Engagement:
    • Set up and manage Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).
    • Upload, monitor, and respond to social media posts and comments..
    • Find and curate royalty-free images for posts and presentations.
    • Create short ‘Did You Know?’ liturgical insight posts or quotes from Church documents.
    • Feature weekly posts on liturgical seasons, saints, or feast days.
    • Develop a ‘Parish Spotlight’ feature showcasing good liturgical practice.
    • Prepare analytics reports on reach and engagement monthly.
  • Creative Resource Development:
    • Catalogue all LB products with images and descriptions.
    • Redesign downloadable resources for parish and school liturgical ministries.
    • Assist in developing digital resources that complement printed materials.
    • Support creation of online course materials and PowerPoint visuals.
