The Graphic Designer (Book Interior Formatting Specialist) is responsible for designing and formatting the interior layout of books and related publishing materials for both print and digital platforms. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail, a strong sense of visual composition, and proficiency in industry-standard design software. Job Responsibilities
- Formatting books for publication (print & digital).
- Creating basic images and book graphics.
- Designing marketing banners and promotional materials.
- Preparing final print-ready and digital files (including bleed, margins, and export settings).
- Collaborating with editors and project managers to meet author brand and design briefs.
- Designing internal layouts for books, workbooks, and journals.
- Creating media kits, social graphics, and web visuals for authors.
- Managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintaining consistency with Dean Publishing’s visual branding across all materials.
- Understanding print production requirements (CMYK setup, spine sizing, paper types, etc.)
- Making design revisions based on author or internal feedback.
- Cover Design Support, assist or lead in designing book covers that align with author branding and genre aesthetics.
- Optional: Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
