We’re seeking a Marketing Assistant (Mid-Level) to join our team and play a vital role in supporting Odyssey’s marketing efforts. Odyssey is a New Zealand company specialising in tour management software for Multi-day Adventure Tourism. Your work will support the exciting tourism and travel industry, and help multi-day tour operators understand how Odyssey can help their business be successful.
This position is ideal for someone with experience working with SaaS or tourism businesses, has a passion for storytelling, an eye for design, and the ability to manage tasks efficiently and independently. You’ll be working closely with our Head of Marketing, undertaking ongoing tasks like newsletters, content updates, social media, competitor research, and light CRM admin—while also contributing your own ideas for how we can improve.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years experience as a Marketing VA or Marketing Assistant.
- Strong writing and editing skills (English).
- Familiar with HubSpot, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Competent in basic graphic design (Canva or similar).
- Experience with CRM and email workflows.
- Comfortable with research and competitive analysis.
- Understands the tone and needs of B2B and/or tourism.
- Bonus: Familiarity with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT).
Job Responsibilities
- Newsletter Marketing: Research tourism trends, repurpose blog content, build and format newsletters, and track engagement.
- CRM / Email Automation (HubSpot): Create/update email templates, update deal stages, respond to white label requests, and create follow-up lists from demos.
- Social Media Support: Repurpose content for social platforms, monitor and report engagement, build LinkedIn contact lists, and produce monthly performance dashboards.
- Website & Blog: Publish content, maintain up-to-date pages, and build backlinks.
- Competitor & Industry Monitoring: Track competitor campaigns, summarize updates, and monitor industry thought leaders and forums.
- Media Relations & PR: Maintain media contacts, support PR outreach, and update related website content.
- Marketing Assets: Manage image and brand assets, design graphics using templates, localize marketing materials, and maintain marketing systems.
- Event Marketing Support: Prepare outreach lists, assist with event-related email sends, and monitor trade show calendars.
