Architect /Architectural Draftsperson

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Architect or Architectural Draftsperson to join our dynamic team. The role involves producing working and construction drawing packages, detailed construction drawings, and coordinating with consultants. The candidate should be able to work independently while following the director’s instructions and possess strong communication skills.

Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Demonstrated excellence in using ARCHICAD software.
  • Experience in producing working and construction drawing packages.
  • Ability to produce detailed construction drawings.
  • Capability to work independently while following the director’s instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with consultants such as engineers and surveyors through phone and online meetings
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Building Codes and Regulations in Australia.
  • Experience working on DA (Development Application) and CDC (Complying Development Certificate) projects.
  • Degree in Architecture, Building Design, Drafting, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
Job Responsibilities
  • Produce comprehensive plans and documentation for proposed building works.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of building permit documentation and other necessary permits.
  • Understand and apply Local Council requirements.
  • Develop plans and documentation to facilitate construction tender processes.
  • Collaborate with building consultants to ensure designs and drawings comply with regulations and obtain necessary permits.
  • Integrate survey plans into project designs.
  • Communicate efficiently with Local Council and Statutory authorities.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Provide assistance to team members working on similar projects.
  • Collaborate with directors to review and discuss design concepts.
  • Generate plans and documentation for both new and existing projects.
  • Assist other team members with the preparation of plans and documentation.
  • Facilitate communication between team members and departments to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Produce detailed plans and documentation required for proposed building work.
  • Assist with building permit documentation applications and other associated permits.
  • Understand and implement Local Council requirements and develop compliant plans and documentation for building permits.
  • Work closely with endorsed building consultants to produce compliant designs and drawings.
  • Integrate survey plans into project designs.
  • Communicate effectively with Local Council and Statutory authorities for lodgements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and assist other team members on similar projects.
