The WrkPod Standard

To maintain a high-integrity competitive environment, all participants must adhere to the following structure and compliance milestones.

  1. CATEGORIES & ELIGIBILITY
    • Intermediate (M/W/Mixed): Target Rating: Individual Min. 3.40 / Max 3.99
    • Advanced/Open (M/W): Target Rating: Individual Minimum 4.00.
    • Vetting Rule: The ratings listed above are target and preferred standards to help players self-select the appropriate category. The Technical Committee will review all entries and reserves the right to reassign teams to ensure the most competitive and balanced brackets possible.
  2. SKILL VALIDATION
To ensure accurate and fair seeding for all participants:

    • Pre-Registration Requirement: All players must provide a valid DUPR ID during the pre-registration phase.
    • Skill Transparency: Players are expected to have an active DUPR profile. This serves as the primary tool for the Technical Committee to verify placement.
    • Alternative Assessment: For players with limited DUPR history or “unrated” status, the Technical Committee will perform a manual skill assessment. This includes reviewing past tournament podium finishes, local club rankings, and athletic history to determine the most fair placement.
  3. TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE & FORMAT
    • Phase 1 (Round Robin): Round Robin format where every team is guaranteed a minimum of 5 games. The top teams from each group advance to the Finals Series.
    • Phase 2 (Finals Series): Single elimination format starting from the Quarter Finals.
    • Scoring: Elimination & Playoffs:
      • Elimination & Playoffs: 1 Game to 11 (Win by 2).
      • Semi Finals: 1 Game to 15 (Win by 2).
      • Championship Games: Best 2 of 3 sets to 11 (Win by 2)
  4. REGISTRATION & VETTING WORKFLOW
    • Stage 01 | Intent to Play: Submit team data and DUPR IDs.
    • Stage 02 | Vetting & Ranking: The technical committee reviews skill brackets and ranks teams by combined DUPR rating.
    • Stage 03 | Approval: Confirmation is sent to the Top 24 highest-rated teams. Remaining qualified teams are moved to the Priority Waitlist.
    • Stage 04 | Payment: Teams have a 48-hour window to settle fees and officially lock their slot.
  5. REFUND & REIMBURSEMENT POLICY
    • Standard Policy: No refunds for general withdrawals or “no-shows.”
    • Waitlist Replacement: If a confirmed team must withdraw and their slot is successfully filled by a team from the Priority Waitlist, refund requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
